In association with CIMTIG, the BTA and GfK Ascent, Travel Vision 2010: Understanding Consumer Behaviour provided a key insight into the upcoming seasons, and demonstrated the importance of accurate live booking market data during one of the most challenging periods the industry has ever faced.

Lorraine Barnes Burton of The British Travel Awards (BTA) and Sarah Smalley of GfK Ascent - with insights from Simon Calder, journalist and presenter of LBC Radio's Travel Clinic programme and guest speaker from Deloitte LLP - presented and expanded upon the results of the BTA Consumer Survey. A snapshot of first-hand views and planned holiday preferences, the findings help create an accurate picture of what your customers are planning for their valuable holiday time in 2010. This is underpinned by unique acquisition data from market intelligence experts GfK Ascent, the official collators of travel industry booking information.

The 2009 survey has surpassed the previous year with over 15,000 responses received, making this one of the most comprehensive annual surveys of its kind. GfK Ascent captures in excess of 19 million consumer choices each year for both the present and upcoming seasons, the latest trading week showing the strongest trading figures for the Summer 2010 season so far. It is becoming clear that performance is being driven by an adapting and evolving industry. As expectations rise, how will the market perform during 2010?
